Things to consider
Let's look at some details before diving too deep into your own project
What is your main goal on this site? :
- 1) Brand awareness: Are you an already existing brand on social media and want to root yourself in people's minds and grow? This is your goal.
- 2) Lead acquisition: Are you a consultant/freelancer/ entrepreneur or company that wants to turn potential customers into buyers? Here's your goal.
- 3) Guide the movement to your products: Do you want to start online shopping and steer customers towards your virtual cash register? Use this goal.
- 4) Be an authority in your field: Do you want to tell everyone that you are a deep expert in your field and a trusted expert with a site that offers plenty of content? This is for you.
* I know it can be tempting to want all these goals, but it's important to choose the one that will have the biggest impact to get you closer to your end goal. You can promote other goals later and add them into the content when the foundation is in order.
Who is your target audience?
- Consider who gets the most benefit from your new site
What obstacles/problems/challenges do they face at the moment?
- When they come to your site, what's the biggest problem they're looking for a solution to?
How does your site help your client solve their problems?
- Are you going to introduce content (articles/videos/etc.) Or products that help your target audience?
What features can you add to your site to achieve your goal and at the same time help your audience?
- Example: free courses/gifts/tool kits/templates/Workbook
