Design your Website 101

1: Design the site so that first you decide what you want to achieve with your site. Is it your digital business card, do you collect leads, or do you maybe set up an online store? So start with the ultimate goal in your mind!

2: Select an address for your pages that is relevant to you, easy to remember and possibly related to the content you want on your page. If you want your site to have the same name as even if your company so register it on time.

So try to create an unforgettable URL!

3: Choose your provider, that is, your hosting partner. You can get easy if you lease a service that includes a domain, a web hotel and an email all from the same provider at once. These are also often packaged as quite reasonably priced and attractive entities and the first year is also often more affordable than further periods.

4: Explore which content management system (CMS) would be best for you, such as for example

wordpress or drupal? Do you have the resources to create your site from scratch yourself, utilizing either a ready-made “theme” or building a completely self-sighted visual look? There are many good paid platforms that make homepage design easy, but they are also all monthly charged.

(3+4. It is also possible that you rent your domain directly from an operator who is also a provider of a network platform such as wix, squarespace or Shopify, to name a few.)

5: Customize the layout of your site to fit your corporate look, or the brand you represent.

6: Create the kind of goal-driven content that supports your business.

7: Add necessary analytics and marketing tools before launching

8: Select a start date to get your page ready sometimes, fine-tune and test that all elements work as desired on all platforms and in major different browser versions and publish your site.

9: What to do next, remember that the site doesn't have to be ready, few sites will ever be fully finished and it's quite possible, that no later than a couple of years you already want a completely different look on your website. That's why everything needs to work but it's a no-brainer not to expect your site should be completely ready, like mine, it's constantly evolving process! Next, start marketing your site and at the same time your products and services.
